What do you think ?

Hi

I have created this blog to set up a place to record and share some of the historical information we have been gathering about the Inlet. A time line seemed like a good idea, and this is a way of recording it in one place. It also provides the opportunity to add and update as we find out more.

I have been learning about blogs in the process and it seems a good way of recording information and allowing everyone to add to it. It also allows a place for photos to be stored.

From what I have learnt so far, there are three things you can do.
1. Create permanent pages (limited to 11)
2. Post a blog
3. Comment on others blogs or pages

If you want the blogs to be indexed don’t forget to add a "label" before posting which you do at the end of the page. This makes it easy to locate by subject matter. Otherwise it will just index or archive by dates. I am not sure how much we can edit each others posts? I can edit posts and have set it up so that you are all authors but I am not sure what this means.

I still have a lot to learn! Using it will help.

It is not available on any search engines at this stage so it is on invite only (you could possibly access it if you know the URL). We should decide who else we want to include?

I have added a few permanent pages to get started .I will update these if blogs are posted with new information or edits.

The pages and blogs are listed on the right.

So send a blog, add to what is here or let me know what you think (you can tell I have too much time on my hands).

If you want to enlarge the photos or images , click to open in new web page and then click to enlarge again.

  1. Hi Carey, This is a great start. We must get the info from the Pat Akerblom booklet. It is reference only in the Wellington Library and I have never got there with paper and pen to write the info down. It has the name of the schoolmaster and schoolmistress in it. I have bought all the photocopies from Nelson down here so will hand over your set on the weekend. I can’t wait to go back to the bottom of the incline and check it out against the picture.
It has been very wet down here. Johnny Boyce told me today there has been 360mm of rain this month
